This May Be Your “Big Break”

The “Big Break,” NBC program which is scouring the country for unknown musical and dramatic talent, this week has moved into the Indianapolis territory to select finalists to appear on the Sunday, Sept. 14 broadcast (WIRE NBC, 9:30 p. m.). George Maynard and Jack Hill, talent scouts for the network program, have arrived and are conducting auditions at the WIRE studios for the next two weeks. Professional and semi-profession-al singers, actors, and musicians desiring to try but for the broadcast are invited to telephone Jack Hill at WIRE for an audition appointment. The “Big Break” stars Eddie Dowling, well-known actor, producer and director, as master of ceremonies. Each week he pre-

sents audition finalists from a different city in the country. The final winner on each broadcast is rewarded in the manner which he individually considers most helpful in furthering his career in show business. Previous winners have chosen such prizes as a concert in Town Hall, New York, and a grand piano. This may be your big break! My Favorite Story David Copperfield Charles Dicken’s touching portrait of a boy in 18th century London will be dramatized on Thursday’s presentation of “Favorite Story” as told by Ronald Colman. It’s “David Copperfield,” the heart-warming story that has been the favorite of millions of readers for many years. Chosen by Alec Templeton as his favorite story, “David Copperfield” will
