That work required inspection of aU the mission’s schools, with suggestions and help for better work. He made contact not only with the members of the staff when visiting a school, but also with the students through games and social times. Because of hjs interest in photography, he acquired some excellent films from various countries and covering many themes, including of course some on the life of Christ, for use in the schools.
During the last term of service, Mr. Potee was elected secretary of the mission which required moving his residence to the city of Jubbulpore. The administrative duties of this position are heavy but give opportunity for contact with every phase of mission activity. In the India Mission are ( 48 missionaries, with 237 national workers in evangelistic, educational and medical work. Ten stations are maintained, with 39 churches being regularly organized and'eight of them having come to self-support. At 34 additional points services are conducted on a regular schedule, total church membership is approximately 3,700. Seventeen schools are conducted, through high school, which enroll 1,500 students. Three hospitals and five ! dispensaries give more than 200,1000 treatments per year. | Following this furlough, Mr. Potee and his wife will return to their work in India.
Christian Convention (Continued from Page 1) sessions of the convention. Mrs. Robinson has been honored in being asked to direct the 500voice youth chorus which will sing Saturday night at a joint session of the two conventions, and our Cloister Choir will render several special numbers as a unit. This is a repeat performance for our Cloister Choir, since they provided special music last year for one of the evening sessions of the convention at Terre Haute. This makes us mighty proud of them. Two thousand registered delegates are expected 1 for the weekend convention. The Christian Churches of Indiana have seven hundred churches with 180,000 members. More than 400 ministers serve the congregations.
