ALLISON’S (Continued from Page L) has been possible to invite the people of Indianapolis to come out and see our plants and we hope it will be possible for a very large number of people to visit us and see the work we are doing,” Mr. Newill declared. The plants scheduled to be visited include Plant 5 in May wood where Allison builds and tests jet as well as reciprocating engines for the U. S. military services. Allison is building in this plant more than 95 per cent of all jet engines presently being produced in this country and it will be possible to watch these engines through their entire manufacture and in operation on test stands. Also, the newly added post war commercial operations at Plant 3 in Speedway will be open for visits and there it will be possible to see manufacture of automotive shock absorbers, hydraulic' lifts, Diesel blowers and transmissions. In addition, Plant 1 will be open during the visiting hours where manufacture of precision bearings is conducted by Allison. Displays showing various products and material to help visitors gain a better understanding of the plants’ operations are being set up in all plants, according to Mr. Newill.
