Curb-side Payment Facilities Provided By Telephone Co.

A new curb-side payment has been provided by the Indiana Telephone Co. for those who wish to pay their telephone bills at the company’s office without parking worries. Located on the New York street side the Telephone building, just west of Meridian, it is the first of its kind to be installed by a utility company anywhere, so far as is known, according to L. W. Shumaker, division manager for the Indiana Bell here. “Simply enclose the stub of the telephone bill with the payment in an envelope, seal, and drop in the slot marked *Put Payments Here’,” Mr. Shumaker said. If the bill stub is not enclosed, be sure to write the name, address and telephone number on the envelope. “For those who need them, envelopes are provided in a compartment beneath the payment slot. In case of over-payment, the account will be credited,” Mr. Shumaker said. The new service is designed to relieve customers of parking difficulties in paying telephone bills at the company’s office.
