ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH Rev. L. A. Lindemann Pastor Sunday Masses: 6:00 o’clock Weekday Masses 7:00 o’clock Sunday is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. All the ladies of the Parish will receive Holy Communion at the 8:30 o’clock Mass on December 8, it being the second Sunday of the month. An anniversary High Mass was said at 6 o’dock on Monday morning of this week for Mrs. Bridget Shaw . . . the mother of Mrs. Walter Klintworth and Miss Agnes Shaw. There was a meeting of the C. Y. O. on Monday evening of this week. Joe Daley, Carl Otte and James Houk met with their committee, Messrs. Louis Ahren, Louie Carlsen, Robert Marien, Paul Nester, Joe Petraits, Warren J. Randall, John Rosner, Lawrence Searles, Donald Walker, George Weiland, Philip , Haboush, R. Wingender, John Rogers, James Scott, Leonard Benedetto and Dr. Jose Torrella on Wednesday evening of this week to plan the Men’s Communion Breakfast which they hope to hold this month. Membership of the Honorary Committee are Messrs. Thomas Keogh, Bruce Atkinson, Philip Mann, Joseph Heritier, Ernest Ellerman, Frank Bostwick, Paul Brading and Harry Davis. Sunday, December 22, at 2 o’clock, has been the time set for the Children’s Christmas Party to be held in the Parish Hall. Each child is to bring a gift for exchange, and the mothers are asked to write on the outside of the package whether the gift would be suitable for a boy or a girl, and for what age boy or girl. Because if they don’t, Santa Claus might make terrible mistakes . . : . and we don’t want Santa Claus to do that. Also each child is to bring, if they wish to do so, some food offering for the Little Sisters of the Poor. It- can be anything the mother sees fit to send, because our 'good Sisters are always most grateful for anything they receive; and if any of you would see the faces of some of the old men and - women who live there when these offerings are taken down, you would then know how appreciative they are too. Friday of last week the picture, Rosary Altar Society, was hung on the east wall of the Chapel. It is the picture of Holy Mother presenting St. Dominic with the Rosary. The other figure in the picture is a dog. On October 6 when the Rosary Altar Society was established at St. Christopher, one hundred and ninety-nine individuals pledged themselves to become members and to say one complete Rosary each week. The picture was oh the Altar at the time, but since it has been mounted in a suitable frame and hangs on the Gospel side of the Altar. It is hoped that many more members of St. Christopher will become members of the Rosary Altar Society. The complete Rosary need not be said all at one time, but one decade could be said one day, a second another day and the third still another day. Father Lindemann has plans of having a shelf placed under the picture knd five or six votive lights placed on the shelf, so that anyone who wishes may make an offering and burn a candle for any intention they may desire. “. . . Whoever is not just is not of God, nor is he just who does not love his brother.”—l St. John 3:10. Nora Bray.
