No, but guaranty Or insurance may be had when obtaining a loan if within 10 years from the officially declared termination of World War H, so the right will continue for a long time. Q. ’ age or similar charges may not legally be made against the veteran for securing a guaranteed loan* Of course, appraisal, title examination fees and other cost and expenses incident thereto, may be charged against the veteran by the lender, the same as against all borrowers. Q. What amount of guaranty may be issued on behalf of any one eligible veteran? A. On real estate loans, $4,000, or on personal property loans, ; $2,000, or partial use may be ' made of these amounts on separate loans of the two types, or Ibans combining the two types. Not more than 50 per cent of any one loan may be guaranteed, except as shown in paragraph below: Where a Federal agency has made, guaranteed or insured, or is to make, guarantee or insure a loan for any of the eligible-pur-poses and the veteran needs a second loan to complete the purchase price, the second loan may be fully guaranteed if: a. The amount involved is not in excess of the veteran’s available guaranty, and b. The loan is not in excess of 20 per cent of the purchase price or cost. Q. If part of the guaranty has been used, how is the guaranty remaining computed? A. To compute unused guaranty add to realty guaranty used for prior loans twice the non-realty guaranty or insurance used. Subtract from $4,000. The sum remaining is the amount, subject to the other limitations of the act and regulations, of realty guaranty available. The non-re-alty guaranty available is half of said sum. For example: A veteran has used $1,500 for real estate guaranty and $350 for a non-realty guaranty and wishes to know what amount of guaranty remains for real estate or for nonreal estate. $1,500 —Amount of guaranty previously used for real estate. 700—(2x5350) amount of guaranty previously used for non-realty. $2,200 $4,000 of guaranty remaining for real estate. Divided by 2 = S9OO, amount of guaranty remaining for non- * real estate. Q. Is the guaranty or insurance privilege of a veteran restored to its original amount when the indebtedness is repaid? A. No.

OPENING DANCE INDIANA ROOF SEPTEMBERS The Indiana Roof, atop the Indiana Theater, is being readied for its fall opening dance on Fri-

day, September 20, according to an announcement made by its directing manager, Miss Alice McMahon. Befiny Strong and his “Band of the Moment” are billed for the opening of the beautiful ballroom which was built in 1927 at a cost of more than $300,000. It occupies the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh floors of the Indiana Theater building, 134 West Washington street. Colorful Spain furnished the inspiration for the ballroom whose mirror-like dance floor is overhung with balconies, blue skies and twinkling stars assembled to give the effect of a group of Spanish homes overlooking a courtyard. The Roof will again operate on a name and semi-name orchestra policy, offering dancing every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. A staff of 90 people are employed to service and supervise the popular night spot.
