UNDOUBTEDLY Karl Marx, father of Communism, had a noble purpose. He aimed to relieve the world’s oppressed people, to correct injustices and get rid of pov-* erty. That would be fine.* There is absolutely nothing wrong with a platform that flatly supports what’s right and opposes what’s wrong. The next step is getting everybody to agree on what’s right and what’s wrong. Followers of the profound Marx didn’t all see eye-to-eye with him after he left first-base. He was obliged to “run out’’ on the First Internationale and disband it because it was being used by a gang of ruffians, more bent on wrecking what w%s in sight than on building a new social order according to a noble plan.* The leader and his followers were not of the same calibre. Converts SETTING out on a to Greed reform that required • changing the motives of many people, Marx recruited followers without changing their motives. Selfish intentions can be mustered under a banner of lofty aims. Already this year news •wires have carried a story about leaders in the Communist movement addressing large audiences of working men, “whooping it up” for strikes. It is not that Labor, considered broadly, is destructive in character or shot through with Communistic ideas. It’s not true. Bulldogs To Play Six Games In Butler Bowl Paul D. Hinkle To Coach Again jButler University’s 1946 football schedule of eight games will include teams that defeated the Bulldogs last season and those that marred the blue and white record in 1942 it was announced yesterday by the faculty athletic committee. Six of the games are to be played in the Butler bowl. Next season will mark the first football coaching at Butler for Paul D. Hinkle, athletic director and head football coach, since his return from active duty with the U. S. Navy.

Coach Hinkle in commenting on next fall’s schedule, the first eight game card since the war stopped football at Butler, stated that it was his wish to defeat those teams which had previously handed the Bulldogs setbacks before undertaking competition with other colleges. “We hope to reacquaipt central Indiana football fans with our Bulldog teams by our six home games,” Hinkle said. Hot Cross Biscuits Broadcast : April 13,1946 1 Vs cups sifted. 2 '/, tebleipoom •U-purpose flour shortening 2 teaspoons baking % cup Pet Milk powder cup water % teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons lolly or thick jam Turn on oven; set at very hot (450° F.). Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Work inz shortening with fork. Stir in milk and water. Turn out on lightly floured board. Knead a few seconds, or until smooth. Roll to 14-in. thickness. Cut into 2V4*in. rounds. With back of knife press a cross about half way through each round. Fill crosses with jelly or jam. Bake close together in greased 8-in. cake pan 15 min. or until brown.
