THE... Speedway Flyer NON-PARTISAN NON-SECTARIAN „ —— This paper is published in the interests of all Speedway. It is distributed every Friday to every home in the community. It is strictly a Speedway paper. It has been published for over fourteen years. It is operated in a co-operative fashion— Speedway business men, the town officials, the school, the Speedway churches, all local clubs and civic groups, in fact the entire town of Speedway contributes to this community enterprise. Everyone concerned with the management of the paper lives in Speedway and is interested principally in the best for this community. “MARCH OF DIMES” CAMPAIGN
Gov. Ralph F. Fred F. Bays, Indiana state democratic chairman, soon will take opposing sides in the 1946 elections, but they have joined in urging Hoosier support for the 1946 “March of Dimes” campaign to fight infantile paralysis. The picture above was taken when Mr. Bays was a visitor at the governor’s office.
Governor Gates is honorary chairman of the “March of Dimes” campaign, being conducted by the Marion County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. The fund-raising appeal extends through January 31st. More than 400 driver-salesmen representing 19 milk and dairy products distributors, have cooperated in an effort to reach into the home and heart of 100,000. residents of Indianapolis by dis-* tributing “Dime Cards” to all customers on their routes. These “Dime Cards” are being returned 'to chapter headquarters at the tremendous rate of over 400 a day. k | Thirteen “Memorial Balls” have' already been established by leading Indianapolis organizations for January 26, with still many more yet to be announced. Proceeds from these benefit affairs have been dedicated to the nationwide drive against infantile paralysis.
