Although turkeys will be more plentiful this year, farmeas are urging consumers to buy their Thanksgiving turkeys early. Working with a minimum of hired hands, poultry farmers are killing the turkeys as they become fattened and shipping them to market, rather than waiting until the week before Thanksgiving. Alert housewives like Mrs. G. L. Lawrence are not taking any chances. Selecting her turkey weeks in advance, Mrs. Lawrence has her gobbler wrapped in waxed paper and placed in a quick-freeze unit where it- will keep fresh and tasty until used.

Home Nursing TrainI ing Classes Planned The program is designed to aid the national “Help the Hospitals” campaign being carried on thruout the country at the present time. Shortage of nurses in the hospitals is more acute than at any time during the war period and an urgent appeal has been made for someone in every household to have knowledge in how to care for the sick in the home. In order that all may take advantage of the training program the Red Cross has equipped Clubmobile units to serve as classrooms and will use them where no other facilities are available. A telephone call to the Home Nursing Division at the Red Cross chapter house is all that is necessary to start arrangements for a class at once. A dramatic motion picture entitled “Nursing Begins at Home” is available for use of clubs, civic organizations, schools and other
