4-H NEWS From Our School The 4-H Club schedule for the coming week is as follows: July 23, 1:00-3:00, Miss Keckler will be at the school building for those that need help in any project. July 24, Tuesday, 4-H Club picnic. Each member’s mother is invited. Everyone will meet at the school building for transportation to West Lake at 10:30 a. m. Everyone that has an available car contact Miss Keckler at Be. 1062. Don’t forget sandwiches and covered dish! July 25, Wednesday, 9:00 a. m., girls that are in Baking 1 and 2 groups who need to bake. 1:00 p. m., the girls that are going to be on the program for Achievement Day, July 31, practice at school building. July 26 and July 27, anyone in clothing who is not finished with their project and needs to sew. Susan L. Keckler, the home economics instructor, took the following girls of the Speedway Sparklers 4-H Club to participate in the Marion County Judging Contest held in the Purdue Extension building: Clothing, Katharine Ziegelmueller, Elizabeth Meyer; baking, Martha Rosner and Jean Preble, and food preparation, Mary Joan Cohen and Wilma Beck. , Martha Rosner placed second and Jean Preble tied for third place in the baking Icontest. Katharine Ziegelmueller was fifth in the large field of contestants.
