THE... Speedway Flyer NON-PARTISAN NON-SECTARIAN NON-PROFIT This paper is owned and published by civic-minded Speedway business and professional men. It is distributed every Friday to every home in Speedway. It is strictly a SPEEDWAY paper. It has been distributed in Speedway for over thirteen years. It is operated in a co-operative fashion—Speedway business men, the town officials, the school, the Speedway churches, all local dubs and civic groups, in fact the entire town of Speedway contributes to this community enterprise. Everyone concerned with the management of the paper lives in Speedway and is interested primarily in the best interest of Speedway. The Speedway Flyer is, in the best sense of the word, SPEEDWAY’S OWN PAPER. HOWARD ANDERSON, Editor y Editorial Office: 14th and Winton Avenue Belmont 3555

"GOOD-BY NOW... g Remember, we're on a Party Line z/ --r_ ... - - 1 u -
O Girls and boys and older people, too —like to call up their friends, but it takes SHORT telephone conversations to keep traffic moving on busy party lines. More families have party lines now than ever before, because telephone equipment is high on the list of wartime shortages. There aren’t enough individual lines for everybody who would like to have one.
Boys and Girls, Your Help is Needed Try to keep telephone talks down to wartime size. There is nothing like a 1-o-n-g d-r-a-w-n o-u-t conversation to put a kink in a telephone line that has to handle all the incoming and outgoing calls for several families.
