SUB-DEB NEWS Here we are again with a new addition to our club. We’re very happy to tell you that Janice Farley is the newest Sub-Deb in Speedway. It seems we gain them just as fast as we lose them. Our “lost member” is Inez Sommers, who has moved to Chicago. She is an inactive member so we haven’t exactly lost her. We do miss her though and hope she is very happy living in Chicago. Remeinber Sub-Debs, there’s a fectyerefoon meeting February 17th at Ayres. Joy Schoenewey.

Aero Club To Conduct Ground School If you are not attending the Speedway Aero Club, you are missing something truly beneficial to the air-minded people of today. A series of most interesting meetings have been held and all future meetings look to be just as interesting. The Speedway group, although just an aviation infant, has progressed greatly and hopes to continue to do so. At our meeting Tuesday evening, February 6th, plans were discussed in regard to conducting a series of ground school lectures by a certified C. A. A. instructor. If you are interested, you are needed to add voice to all decisions made. Aviation of tomorrow depends on the aspirations of today, so, if you fly, intend to fly, or are interested in different phases of navigation, meteorology or theory of flight, come to the meeting next Tuesday at 8:00 p. m., in the Town HalL

CUB NEWS •Next Thursday evening, February 15th, at 7:00 o’clock, is the regular meeting of Pack 66 in the grade gym. This will be our annual charter night and representatives of the Central Council office will be there to present the charter. Also officers of our sponsoring institution, the Speedway P.-T. A., will be present to receive the charter. During the past year our pack has made an outstanding record in helping to promote the war effort, having collected waste paper and doing a fine job of selling bonds during the fourth, fifth and sixth war loans. It is the hope of the Pack Committee that during the ensuing year, the boys with the aid of their parents, will continue in the same manner. All cubs and parents are urged to attend this annual occasion. Let’s give the pack a boost by attending the first meeting of our new year.

STRTEGIC RENDEZVOUS The newsboy shrieked: "Yanks in Manila,” The headlines stood out dark and clear. We knew at heart this day would come, Yet thought it not so near. Some while ago this Hirohito ' Was not sure he could make it, But moved in, somewhat awed with fear When strategists said: “Take it.” We told him then that we’d be back, MacArthur had forseen it, I guess you’ll know when we speak now, That, Brother RAT, we mean it.
