THE MAN WHO GOES FISHIN* By J. R. FLANIGAN The man who goes flshin’ has this lesson to learn, Success doesn’t come by jerkin; its earned. By fishing away among logs and rocks He makes stepping stones of the stumbling blocks. He knows in his heart that he cannot fail That no ill fortune can make him quail While his will is strong and his courage high He will always be longing for another try. With rod and reel and hand all a quiver X Hopefully he casts to Catch another Silver In flshin’, every day he does his Willingly he lets the future take care of the rest
He does not complain when he suffers a loss It’s flshin* not favor that gets him across. So his motto is this: “What another man Has been able to catch, I surely can.” For the man who fishes has the sense to see, He can make of himself what he ought to be. He will off with his coat and pitch right in, Why, the man who fishes can’t help hut win.
