ST. CHRISTOPHER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH Rev. L. A. Lindemann Pastor Sunday Masses: 6:00 o’clock Weekday Masses.—. .730 olclock There is nothing more that this humble writer can say which has not already been said about the ceremonies which were held Tuesday elevating our Most Reverend Bishop Ritter to Archbishop of Indiana, except to repeat that all the people of the state of Indiana should feel highly honored and especially blessed in that an Archbishop Diocese has been established in the State, and that one of its own sons was chosen to be the first Archbishop. The Altar Society will have ladies standing at the back of the church after all the Masses on Sunday to accept any donations for flowers and candles for the Altar for Christmas. Confessions, in preparation for the greet Feast of Christmas, will be heard Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon and evening. The first Mass on Christmas —a High Mass—will be at 5 o’clock. The next Mass will be at 8:30, and another High Mass at 10 o’clock. The Christmas collection, as has been the custom for years in the State of Indiana, will all be given to the orphans. Every priest always desires that this collection be as large as possible. Christmas is a time of generaus giving—and to what more worthy cause than to children who are placed under our care ranging in age from a few days up to and in high school! There will >e a CHRISTMAS PARTY and DANCE for the young people of St. Christopher and their friends in the Parish Hall on Friday evening, December 29th from 8:30 o’clock until most midnight. This party is for all the young people of the Parish from high school age and on. Each member of St. Christopher may bring a guest—either boy or girl . This party is being sponsored by the ladies of the Altar Society and they are planning for a large crowd, so don’t disappoint them. Mrs. Frank Medenwald is Chairman of the Committee in charge of rthe Dance-Party. Some of the ladies who will assist her are Kiesdames Walter Freund, Raymond?-Vurpi Hat, Ben Althoff, KViiyam Meyer, W. Constant Bouchard Bruce Atkinson, Carl Sheets, Agnes Randall Rita Louden, Eddleman and Soller. Mrs. Medenwald is contacting her committee by phone in planning for this party. Have you seen the beautiful Yuletide scene at 1819 Christopher Lane, the craftmanship of Mr. Harry B. Davis There are life-size figures of the Mother Mary, the Christ Child, St. Joseph, and several lambs. The display which is on the porch of Mr. Davis’ home will be made each night through Christmas from seven to eight-thirty o’clock. In a INS release from Vatican City, it stated that Pope Pius XII, in an audience with John A. Brogan, manager of the foreign department of King Features Syndicate, expressed the desire Saturday to revisit the United States. The pontiff expressed admiration for the achievements of the American people and recalled his last visit to the United States in 1936 when as a cardinal he crossed the country by plane. The life story of Blessed Mother Carbrinia, late Chicago nun, and the only American ever to be a candidate for canonization, probably will be one of the first pictures of the newly formed Jesse L. Lasky Productions, Inc., Mr. Lasky has announced. A Merry Christmas to all, and Peace on earth to all men of good will. nora bray.
