SCHOOLNEWS The first home basketball game will be Friday, Nov. 17, with Greenwood. Admission prices for home games will be 35 cents for the pre-game sale, and 50 cents at the door. Most county schools are charging these admission prices. A season ticket will be sold to students only for $2.00. This is an average price of 25 cents per game, there being eight home games. Alt Speedway fans attending games are urged to come early as the seating capacity in the gym is limited and occasionally the doors have to be closed because the gym is full. • ♦ * The 12th annual Book and Toy Exhibit sponsored by the American Association of University Women will be held in the L. POEM HONORS dr. McDonald Many people have expressed their appreciation of Speedway’s late Dr. McDonald. His passing brought forth words of sympathy and understanding from everyone. One of these expressions of a friend took the form of the following poem which we are happy to print in remembrance of the doctor. THE DOCTOR IS OUT The doctor is out today, my friend. He cannot heal your ache. He’s a busy man you know, my friend, And had a call to make. This call came suddenly, my friend, And Doc’s not one to pause When duty calls him to his work No matter what the cause. His life was yours and mine, my friend, At every beck and call.
