The minister of the church has taken into account, in planning the spiritual life program of the church, that many defense workers are employed now on Sunday as well as through the week. Many, who would like to come to church services on Sunday morning, cannot because of work. This church has always endeavored to serve the spiritual needs of such people. Made with a teasingly flavored cheese sauce and sliced hard-cookec egg, these croquettes were fried it one of the new five-speed well cookers in a modern electric range Such cookers are well adapted for deep-fat frying, since among others, they are equipped with a high speed switch which beats the fat quickly to frying temperature, and also a second, slightly lower speed which is designed especially to maintain frying temperatures. Then, since they are set deep-down into the surface of the range, these electric deep well cookers effectively safeguard against the usual hazards of deep-fat frying—an upset fat kettle and spattering grease. A temperature of 390° F. gave these croquettes their very thin crisp brown crust and heated the mixture inside just enough so that the cheese became meltingly soft.
