Who’s Who In Speedway (By Mrs. Leontine Webster) Miss Louise Starkey is the director of the Speedway High Schoo] Chorus. She reorganized the chorus last year and is also teacher of vocal music and art of Speedway School. She was born north of Clermont, Indiana, November 24th, 1919, the daughter of William and Edessie Starkey. Miss Starkey attended grade school at number four. Pike Township, and graduated from New Augusta High School in 1936. From 1936 to 1939 she attended Central Normal and has a degree of Bachelor of Science. Miss Starkey

attended John Herron Art summer schcol in 1941. She taught in New Augusta Public Schools two years and ~n Speedway this year. During the summer of 1940 Miss Starkey sang with a choral group traveling 9,000 miles along the south west and northern boundaries of the United States. Miss Starkey belongs to the In-and-about music club, Traders Point Christian Church and Psi Chi Omega Sorority and Indiana State Teachers’ Association and National Educational Association. Much credit should be given to her efforts in training of the voices and for the pleasure given to Speedway by this chorus.

Women’s Council News Plans for the dinner for May 27 were changed to a reservation basis so a better check could be made.
