DRIVE IS NOW ON FOR RECRUITING MEN FOR NAVY Citing tne new recruiting drive in Indiana as an effort on the part of the Navy to maintain a supply of men to “man" our ever increasing fleet, Lieut.-Commander McWhorter hailed the campaign as one of the largest peacetime drives <fn record. Men are needed for forty-five types of work it was announced. Outstanding among these needs of the Navy are aviation machinist, stenographers, electricians, patternmakers, metal smiths, shipfitter torpedomen, radioman, boilermaker, aviation metalsmith, turret captain, seaman, carpenter, ordnanceman, yeoman, bombsight mechanic, boastwain, quartermaster areagrapher,Diesel engineer, fire controlman, fireman, diver, parachutist, welder, water tender, storekeeper, hospital apprentice, cook, musician, commissary steward, gunner, signalman, printer, photographer, bandmaster, painter, bugler, pharmacist’s mate, baker, optical mechanic, dental technicion horizontal bomber, molder and steward. Interested parties should consult with their nearest recruiting station. Stations in the Indiana Area, Ninth Naval District, include Lafayette, Columbus, Ft. Wayne, Evansville, Terre Haute, Richmond Muncie, sub-stations, and Ind'inapolis the central station.
