i FAMOUS MEN TO SHOW COOKING SKILL The personal appearance here next week of James Montgomery Flagg, Tony Sarg, William Rhode, and Ben Irvin Butler, all in chef’s garb and showing that anyone can be a good cook with a modern electric range, is attracting special interest among Indianapolis housewives and their husbands. This quartet of famous members of The Society of Amateur Chefs will exhibit their cooking as well as their artistic ability in a twohour stage show in Murat Theatre on Tuesday night, October 22, and the following afternoon and night, under the auspices of the Electric League of Indianapolis, Inc. The names Flagg and Sarg stand high in the world of art, the former being noted especially for his stirring patriotic posters of World War days and the latter for his cleverly designed marionettes. Rhode, a cookbook author, and Butler, a magazine food editor, have won national reputations for their writings about good things to eat. Although these celebrities from Broadway take their kitchen work as seriously as they do their respective professions, and had to prove their skill with a skillet to attain leadership in the Amateur Chefs, their masculine technique in preparing ineals is reported to be good for a lot of hilarity on the part of their audiences. Admission to their Indianapolis performances will be by ticket obtainable from local dealers in Frigidaire, General Electric, Hotuoint, Sears’ Electroday, StewartWarner and Westinghouse electric ranges. There are nearly a halfhundred dealers in these ranges, including neighborhood stores in all parts of the city as well as the largest downtown stores, and a strong demand for the tickets already is reported.
