MEN’S CLUB TO PURCHASE NEW ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT At the first meeting of the new fall season last Monday night, the Men’s Club of Speedway decided to buy a new volley ball and other athletic equipment. The Club is for all the men of Speedway; its purpose is to furnish recreation for the men of the community. There are no dues in this organization and membership is attained by mere attendance at the meeting. The Club will meet again next Monday night in the school gym. Mr. John Hopkins, president, has announced that the election of new officers will be held at that time.
Baby Whistling Champion The parents of 16-month-old David Matthews say he is the baby whistling champion of the world. His father, Jasper Matthews, of Ft. Myers, Fla., said he gave the baby a “few pointers” and now David “can be heard two city blocks.”
