SPEEDWAY THEATRE The week of October 8& to 14th will be a gala week at the Speedway as they k are celebrating their Anniversary Week with big programs and the most outstanding pictures of the season. * For the first three days of tiie week, starting Sunday, “When Tomorrow Comes,” starring Irene Dunne and Charles JBoyer. This unusual problem story provides a rich field for the acting genius of both Miss Dunne and Mr. Boyer. The result is one of the most powerful dramatic offerings of the present season. The other half of the program brings everybody’s favorite, Miickey Rooney with the Judge Hardy family “Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever.” Hardly necessary to comment on this feature except to say that never before has the Hardy family appeared more human, more appealing. You are assured of entertainment of the highest order. Special short subjects have been chosen for the occasion with a Merrie Melody comedy, “Detouring America” and also a saga of the Navajo Indian under the title of “Pow Wow.” Both short subjects are in Technicolor. Sunday a continuous show, starting at 1:30.

Ever botherin’ me. I jes’ guess I doesn’t know • An’ I guess I’ll let ’em be. —Philander Johnson.

WHY ARGUE? One of the most futile things in the world is argument. If you want to persuade anybody, suggest, do not argue. When you argue with a man you arouse his antagonism; you rarely secure his cooperation. So, if you want a man to do anything, take any other course than argument. i. There is a story floating about of a man who went to a clothing store and asked to see a good woolen suit. The storekeeper produced a suit; the customer examined “It and said: “It looks pretty good, but doesn’t look like wool to me. I do not believe it is wool.” “But you like it?” asked the salesman. “Yes, I like it all right, but I don’t think it is wool.” “Shall I wrap it up for you?” “Sure, I guess Til take it. But tell.me, why didn’t you argue with me when I told you it wasn’t wool? As a matter of fact I don’t know whether it’s wool or not.” “Well,” said the merchant, “you see if I win the argument I lost the sale, so what’s the use?”—Selected.
