Recently when the building fund committee proposod to the Railroadman’s Building and Loan Association that they adjust the indebtedness on the Speedway Church so that th© remaining amount could be paid off during 1936, they agreed and tho debt was loworod from $4860 to $3500 and tho interest was waived for this year. Wo aro now in.tho process of starting our campaign to raise this amount of $3500 Tho campaign will open formally JUDE 7thl On this Sunday ovory member of tho Speedway Church will bo given an oppotunity to make his pledge and contribution to tho Building Fund* Pledge Cards aro now prepared to rociovo tho signature of all who give. Tho morning services of Church School and Worship will bo COMBINED into eno sorvico beginning at 9530 o’clock in order to devote tho entire time to full explanations of plans and pledge card distribution. Ur. Anderson has been dosignatod by tho committee to present tho campaign. Following Juno 7th, a volunteer group of 50 people will canvass ovory homo in Spoodway, so that every person will havo a chance to help pay off the Community Church indobtodnosa Tho Building Fund Commitoo feels that this dobt of $3500 should bo tho vital concern of ovory citizen of Speedway. This church has boon in Speedway working for the community’s host interest for many years. In tho bost sense of the word, it is tho Community’s Church. This church sponsors community activities such as the Boy Scouts of Anoiica, the Vacation Church School, the Sunday School, tho Spoodway Flyer, as well as tho regular church services. Attention may be called to tho fact that ovory property owner should value tho presence of the church in Spoodway because a church in a community groatly incroasos property values.
