HOW MUCH IS A CHURCH WORTH TO A COMMUNITY? The other day a man spoke to me in this veins "Yes sir, Il n for tho Church; every community ought to have a church; it’s good for everybody. O’course I don't, go to church myself, but I always send my children to Sunday School.; wont to Sunday School myself whon I was a little shaver. Every youngster ought to go t*o Sunday School. No sireo, I wouldn't want to live whore tharo wasn't a church.," Yet, strange to say. this man contributed nothing to tho church in the community in which he lived. He never attended the church services, he ignored the constant hood for funds to keep tho church alive, ho SENT his children to Sunday School. In spite of this he boasted that 1 ho was proud that his town had-a good church. 'lf he had not his taxes, and had boasted about- tho schools or the police 1 force of his town, we would havo called him a BAD CITIZEN. We 1 can not help but ponder the psychology which allows a man to . p provo of the church and desire its maintenance and yet to deny 1 it his support in any way whatever. What is tho church in this community worth to YOU? Are you glad to havo a church in Speed- • way? Would you like to live here if there were NO church at allIf you are glad for tho Speedway Church, if you are happy to live in a town that is wo 11-churched, then ask yourself this question; "WHAT HAVE I CONTRIBUTED TO MAKE THIS CHURCH POSSIBLE?") Your community church needs your personal support and .attendance., ---by tho i OBSERVER
