LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY TO BE CELEBRATED SUNDAY Lincoln's birthday will bo celebrated Sunday in the Community Church. Mr. Anderson will base his morning talk on the life of America's greatest hero. The subject will be: "From Log Cabin to White House" The music for the morning hour will bo furnished, by the morning choir which will sing, F.B. Holton's great anthem: "I Will Extoll Theo". Everyone ia invited to attend.
The minister-will speak at the evening service on the last oi' tho spacial sermon’ serios: "Bootlog' and Speakeasy". Here are the final slang phrases which will be used by tho minister for his themes for Sunday nights. You haveall heard these two terms used many times in this modern time; what characteristics of tho American people do they indicate? Strange'as it may seom, although those words are used in regard to liquor law violations, they express much more than just this in tho characteristics of our nation. You are also invited to hear tho young people's chorus sing: "Tarry With Me",tho beautiful anthem by PinsuttiParks which they are giving again next Sunday night by special request. We say this merely to assure yo-u that you will be comfortable even if tho temperature. outside does drop below froozing again No matter what tho weather, you'll be comfortable in ttyo Community Church.
-APRON PARTY TONIGHTThe Ladies Aid Society will ■ givo an Apron Party in tho church tonight. The program will consist of new and different talent than we have had before. The Toy Symphony musical numbers, readings and other interesting items make up the program. Refreshments will be served by the women. Everyone is invited,. Admission is by a very unique devise. You will bo charged by the number ofi days in the month until your birthday at the rate of one cent a day. Thus if your birthday was on the 6th of August, you would be charged six cents. Children will be charge 10 jzf. You will gnjoy the evening. Everyone in Speedway is invited.
Both church basket-ball teams won last night. Tho girls won over their team by tho score of 26-19., and the boys triumphed with a score of 18-8.
