Ringle, of Bremen, shipped a car load of hogs from this place to Chicago last Monday. Schuyler Meßroom has returned from North Dakota. He reports very wet weather there all spring. He expects to return, however, in a few weeks. Mrs. Kaufman, wife of Rev. R. E. Kaufman, has been at Kandallville about four weeks. _Her mother, wife of Rev. Clark, is seriously ill with cancer. Mr. Fuller, B. & O. agent at this place, and John Montgomery, night operator at LaPaz Junction, went to Milford last Sunday morning on wheels to vigit relatives and friends. i Rev. Coverstone, of Bremen, and Rev. Kaufman, of LaPaz, will meet next Sunday at the Lake of the Woods to perform the rite of baptism. It is reported that quite a number are to be baptized. Rev. Jesse Calvert, of South Bend, stopped here a few minutes last evening. He was on his way to Tesgarden, where he is conducting religious services for two or three nights, Benny Snyder, whose barn burnt down some weeks ago, Yas employed Jonn Forsyth to build him a new one. There was a great storm occurred last Saturday. It blew 13 large oak trees down in “South Chicago,” the huckle- | berry marsh and one beside Henry Sult’s barn.
