Emma Rinehart attended a school picnic near Maple Grove the first of last week. Mrs. A. J. Uncapher and Mrs. Seward Rinehart, of Grovertown, stopped with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Rinehart on Tuesday of last week. Dan Koontz attended the republican convention at Knox one week ago last Saturday. May Day was observed by a number of our young ladies banding together and, in the quiet of the evening leaving at the doors of the residents along our street a fragrant basket of flowers; all recipients were pleasantly surprised and kindly extend thanks to the donors. GROVERTOWN. Business on the mend, The prospect for an immense crop of wheat and fruit never was better in this section than just now. Sid Uncapher made a business trip to Chicago last Monday returning Tues day. I Miss Louise Rapp went to Chicago I - last Eriday for a two weeks visit with I I her parents and other ft ivudo. Osla Holderman spent two days of last week in Culver City looking after business matters. Dan Shenneman, of near North Liberty, was in this vicinity last Thurs day and Friday. Frank Seider. of Plymouth, spent a few days of this week in this vicinity with friends. Chas. Miller, while cutting some timber last Friday had the misfortune to cut his foot quite seriously, which will lay him up at least two weeks. Amos Shaffer spent several days visit ing friends and relatives in Plymouth. Chase. JORDAN. Rev. Smith preached at this place Monday evening. Tennis Pippenger, of Maple Grove, visited friends in this vicinity Sunday. Frank Smith, of Lakeville, visited with his parents here Sunday. Mrs. Joseph Cripe and son Ray visited friends in Marshall county Sunday. Mrs. Holycross, of South Bend, was visiting friends here the fore part of this week. Mrs. Samuel Phaxton and son Jim were visiting friends in Donaldson Sun day. Remember the Sunday school at this place 2:30 p. m. Everybody is invited to attend.
