Clark is on the sick list | and also two of their children. Win. Hooten had the misfortune Monday of cutting off two of his toes with a mattock. The M. E. Sunday school is changed ip P:3O o’clock in the forenoon. G. F. Jarrell, of Marion, is visiting with relatives in and around this place. Christopher Smeltz is taking in the centennial at Fort Wavue this week. Miss Dora Bennett has gone to Richmond, Ind., to stay this winter. Jennie Austin is visiting with Mrs. Frank Johnson fora few weeks. Mr. Keller and wife, of Ohio, are visiting with their children of this place. Why is it that some store keepers throw their empty oyster and sardine , cans in the road? A. D. Johnson has repaired his side walks with a nice coat of gravel. Why don’t others do likewise? Tyner lias two blacksmiths. A large number of the boys went to the river fishing Saturday evening, i Ask who ate the long neck bird. Tad says it was good. George Smith is a resident of Tyner once more. Mrs. Kilgore is very sick at this writing. Sliders graded the new road to the county line from the corner. It is a line piece of work and should have b een done some time ago but it is better late than never. Miss Lulu Linville is improving very slowly. Henry Miller’s family are all bettor except his wife. She is quite ill.
Miss Minnie Inks is convalescing, , and her mother is getting betterslowly. Wm. Babcock’s little son is quite low yet with typhoid fever. Frank Yocum, though very weak yet, started with his father to his home nt Rochester, O , yesterday. 3 Mr. Fuller, the new B. & O. agent, is a very clever and accommodating gentleman. He Lus moved his family here. Miss Lydia Abbott, who has been at South Bend the greater part of the summer, came home to her mother's |on Tuesday of last week. She is on 1 the sick list. Clint Bondurant, of Bremen, an ex teacher of this township camo here last Monday on business, ami to visit relatives and friends. John Linville, of Chicago, came here <»n Wednesday of last week on account । of (he sickness of his sister, Miss Lulu i Linville. Wm. Linville and wife, ami Aaron Linville, of Garrett, Ind., came here; one week ago, having been summoned by telegraph. There will be preaching intown next Sunday evening by Rev. Smith at the W. M. church and by Kev. M. L. Lh-ter at Luther Chapel. Adam Longaker is rebuilding his saw mill, which burned down a couple of months ago. Mrs, Corn Guard, nee Rector, of Soul li Bend, visited relatives ami friends hero a couple of days last week. Mrs. Mattie Selvey, who was for j three years cook for Wm. Mrs. Albert, living a half mile south of town, is reported quite ill. John Linkenfelter and familv. of the Buffalo neighborhood, started to Wright Co , Missouri, on Wednesday of last- week, Mrs S .’s brother, Albert Mishler, wccopipiinied them, They went with a team. Joseph Mishler and wife took the train yesterday morning for Mountain Grove, Mo. They will spend the winter with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mis. Joseph Weeks. Teams are passing through LaPaz I almost daily on their way to Georgia. Last evening about a dozen of the boys of LaPaz tent No. 56, K. O. T. M. went to Lakeville to assist Lakeville tent No. 130 in initiatory work. Rev. E. Smith will preach at the Brethren church on Sunday, Oct. 20,

The funeral was held at the Luthman church, east of here, Thursday at 10:30 a. m.
