He then created man and woman and left the loafers on the corners, and in due time they multiplied and spread into the depot, postoilice and stores. In the latter place they sit and explain state and national problems. An editor, who lias evidently had considerable experience in the newspaper business, says: “Do not swear outside of a printing otlice. It is useful in proof reading and indispensiblu in getting forms to press, and has been known to assist in looking over the paper after it has been printed, but otherwise it is a very disgusting habit." There are men in business who say that advertising does not pay and who insist that they have lost money by it. A great many unskilful advertisers do lose money, but it is only because they do not treat their advertising fairly. I'hey starve it and expect too much of it. Advertising won’t work miracles. It is merely an aid to business. It can he overloaded. A little ad won’t carry a big business. A poorly cared for ad loses vitality—it can’t do really good work.—Printers Ink. The Plymqulh Independent, in commenting on an article in this paper relative to public enterprise, says: “Have you people a wide awake business men’s association; an association that keeps its eyes open for something that will prove beneficial to the welfare of your different cities? That is one of the most important features of a progressive city. Now Plymouth has got this essential feature, and ere the hard earned dollars of her citizens go to assist some heralded enterprise, the closest scrutiny of the board of directors of our business men’s association must pass favorably upon it before a move is made. This one lealure, gentlemen, is the key note to our success. And while we speak of success, just for the purpose of gaining valuable information, keep your eye upon our movements this coming summer. FROM NORTH DAKOTA. Cando, North Dakota, March 9, 1895. Ed. Independent: As the long dreaded winter is nearly over, I must say it was as tine a wintei as I ever experienced, thus far. Have not had but few stormy days this winter, although it was very cold in January and part of February; the thermometer in some places was said to be 54 below zero, but the lowest my thermometer registered was 33 below. The latter part of February was very warm, and the farmers are turning their stock on the prairie for them to hustle, their own living. The farmers of North Dakota are just that far ahead !of the eastern farmers. As quick as i the snow goes away their stock can hunt their own living; they don’t have ■ to wait till half the summer is over for grass to grow. I find that a man can i winter just as well in North Dakota as he can in Indiana and not suffer as much with cold, as the air here is very dry. So it takes but little tire to drive back the cold. I have not burned near as much wood here as I did in the east and did not have as warm a house as I have in the east. The farmers here are getting ready to seed. I just finished helping one of t my neighbors clean his seed wheat. ; We only cleaned 800 bushels of wheat , I for seed besides some barley and oats. .: A great many of our farmers are thinking of raising corn and not so much - wheat. All those farmers who have tried to raise corn have been successful and I think in a few more years 9 North Dakota will be one among the i, corn growing states. I shall plant some corn and vegetables of all kinds this year, as I have a splendid place for same. IL W. Ford.

I had not slept for more than two months except by the use of narcotics that stupefied me, but gave me no rest. I was only conscious of intense mental weakness, agonizing bodily pain and the fact that I was hourly growing weaker. When in this condition, 1 commenced using Dr. Miles’ Restorative Nervine.
