Her Hell. I have read your daily articles on hell, and take great liberty of asking j yon to give my idea a space. I will! vouch that every good woman will i agree with-me that has a spreeing husband that spends all his money, besides all he can borrow, and stays away from home for days at a time; then comes home to be nursed back to health and expects love and kind ness from bis wife. In referring to the value of advertising, the St. Joseph Herald cites the case of a man who advertised for his lost. s| ectades and found them upon the back of his head. It is said that the new Wabash railroad has completed arrangements with the Three 1 company to run trains into South Bend from its Montpelier and Chicago line via North Liberty. A North Manchester man was arrested last week for stealing a Bible, lie explained the matter by saying that he could not resist the temptation to lay his hands on every good thing he saw. The canning factory fever has struck many Indiana towns and the result is that numerous canneries are being started. This line of business is probably being overdone, and there will be some failures to record. The Albion Democrat man consoles himself as follows: “The man who hasn't got a bank account, escapes worrying over the possibility of his name being forged to a check.” A noted inventor recently stated that not half the people in this country of labor saving devices. Unlike most proprietary medicines, the formula) of Dr. J. C. Ayer’s Sarsaparilla and other preparations are cheerfully sent to any physician who applies lor them. Hence the special favor accorded these wel mown standard remedies by the World's Fair commissioners. The Presbyterian Chautauqua. A special from Warsaw says although action Lias been taken looking to establishing a Presbyterian Chautanqmi nt Bass lake, in Stark county, it is understood that (he Baltimore & Ohio and Big Four railroad companies, aided by other interested persons, will make an effort to secure a change to Turkey hike, in Kosciusko county. A favorable offer will soon be made, with that end in view. In the meantime the Cedar Lake plans are still going forward. The association will first build a large hotel and lease it. Next will come an nuditorium with a seating capacity of not less than 3,000. Then will come boat houses, electric launches, bath houses, college buildings and gymnasium, in the order named. This will be done by the Chautauqua association. The electric railroad company which is an entirely different organization, b it still under the charge of the Chautauqua association will begin work on the electric line, which will extend from Bass Lake station, on the C. & E. railroad, through the Chautauqua on the east sidoof Ino bitch to WIW. hh soon as teu thousand dollars in stock is taken. PICKED UP. Politeness is inexpensive, yet valuable. A man who is really smart need not “act” smart. An engagement is like tomorrow, bnt marriage is like to day.
