The 16 graduates of Wanatah were present. HAMLET, C. J. Danielson was in Knox on business Monday. H. A. Ellingson was in Chicago Monday and Tuesday. Dan and J. D. Troyer were at Hamlet last week. Mrs. Bates is visiting in and about South Bend this week. W. Christoph and wife were calling on friends at Hamlet last week. Mrs. Hartsock, of Middlepoint, Ohio, is visiting friends about Hamlet. The ladies of the M. E. church gave an ice cream supper Saturday night and cleared about $15.50. Frank Taylor’s Sunday horse racing cost him a broken collar bone. Ray & Eberle have disolved partnership by mutual consent and Jake will continue the meat market at the old stand. The road dredge is about ready to commence work. This makes two
dredges near Hamlet. Let the good w »rk go on. At the I. O. G. T. district convention recently held st North Judson Hamlet was found to have the largest Good Templar lodge in the county. Davis township is hustling to raise the required amount to secure the new railroad and depot at Hamlet, and we expect Kuox will soon be asking to be annexed. A free for all fight is reported at confederate cross roads last week and one of the parties was fined ten dollars and costs. We understand that it all came of drinking coffee from a bottle. Mr. Welch, of San Pierre, is visiting bis son Joe Welch, of this place. Julius Martini, Jr., is hauling lumber for a new house in Danielson’s addition, and Frank Taylor has one already commenced. Chas. Harness lost a valuable horse that dropped dead while working the other day. O. B. Heath had two good work horses mire and one drowned, and the Mother nearly so. O. F. S. TYNER CITY. John W. Baugher returned Tuesday from a trip through Michigan. Hu is on a trade for Michigan land. Thomas Voreis, candidate for Sheriff, was calling on the boys of this place this week. Sheriff Jarrell was in town Saturday on business. Mrs. James Willis is getting quite feeble. There was some improvement for a week or two, but she became worse again. Rev. Stanford will preach at the W. M. church next Sunday at 11 a. m. and Rev. M. L. Peter will preach at Luther chapel at the same hour. Elder W. R. Deeter, of Milford, Ind., preached an interesting sermon at the I W. M. church on last Friday evening. His topic was, “The General Judgement.” Elder I. N. Miller will preach at the Claybangh school house on Saturday evening, May 19, and also on Sunday at Ila. m. Hou. 11. G. Thayer, of Plymouth, will deliver his lecture on "Pompei and Mt. Vesuvius" at the W. M. church in this place on Sunday, May 20, at 2 :30 p. m. Come every body and hear the eloquent lecturer. He will exhibit splendid photographs of those

Said tax is to be used for repairs and for building a nice fence around the cemetery. Will Linville and wife, of Garrett, visited their parents and friends in this place the latter part of last week. Will returned on Sunday evening. Rev. Linville has been quite successful in bis revival work on his circuit. He and his assistant, Rev. French, had 151 accessions to the M. P. church at Mentone. Rev. L. came home yesterday . The commencement exercises of the North township public schools will be held at the public hall in LaPaz, on Saturday evening, May 19. There are ten graduates. There is still a debt hanging over the W. M. church in this place. The house was built as a Union house, but deeded to the Wesleyan Methodists. A Shafer and Adam Trisinger are still buying calves and poultry, but the market is said to be rather d ill and prices low.
