When told he was not dead, the stranger exclaimed: “He is certainly dead. You can’t tell me any thing about him. I believe he is an honest man, and I don’t care if you or any other man saw him, I believe he is dead. Why, he came to. me the other day and borrowed $5, telling me that
he would pay me the next day if he i week and lie has never been near, so ( he surely is dead.
