A FORTUNE Inherited by few, is pure blood, free from hereditary taint. Catarrh, consumption, rheumatism, Scrofula, and many other maladies born in 1 the blood, can be effectually eradicated only by the use of powerful alteratives. The standard specific for this purpose — the one best known and approved—is Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, the compound, concentrated extract of Honduras sarsaparilla, and other powerful alteratives. “I consider that I have been SAVED several hundred dollars’ expense, by using Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, and would strongly urge all who are troubled with lameness or rheumatic pains to give it a trial. lam sure it will do them permanent good, as it has done me.” —Mrs. Joseph Wood, West I lattsburgh, N. Y. Dr. J. W. Shields, of Smithville, Tenn., says: “ I regard Ayer’s Sarsaparilla as the best blood medicine on earth, and know of many wonderful cures effected by its use. <• For many years I was laid up with Scrofula, no treatment being of any benefit. A' length 1 was recommended to give Ayer Sarsaparilla a trial. I did so, and By Taking about a dozen bottles, was restored to perfect health —weighing 230 poui.ds —and am now a believer in the merits of Ayer’s Sarsa-parilla.”-James Petsy, Mine Boss. Breckenridge Coal Co. (Limited), \ ictoria, Ky. ' “My niece, Sarah A. Losee. was for years afflicted with scrofulous humor in the blood. About 18 months ago she began to pse Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, apd after taking tineo bottles was completely cured.” —L- Cattail, I’. M., Losee, Utah. Ayer’s Sarsaparilla . prepared by Dr. J, C. A printer sat in his chair, his boots were patched, his coat threadbare; and his face looked weary and irorn with care. While coldly tjiiiik/ng of business debts, old Morpheas slowly around him crept, and before he knew it he soundly slept. And sleeping he dreamed that he was dead, from trouble and toil his spirit bad flpd, not even a cowbell tolled fijr his cow-hide sole. As smoke and scorcli" in lower hades, he shortly observed an iron door, that
creakingly swung on hinges ajar, but the entrance was closed with a red-hot bar, and Satan himself stood peering out, waiting for travellers thereabout, and thus to the passing printer spoke: “Come in my dear, it shall cost you nothing and never fear. This is the place where I cook the ones, who nevpr pay their subscription sums; for through life they escape, they will find when dead it is too late; I will show you the place where I melt them thin, with red-hot chains and scraps of tin; and also where I con b their heads, with broken glass and melted lead; of refreshments, now only think; there’s boiling water forthem to drink; there’s the red-hot grindstone to grind his nose, and the red-hot ring to wear on his toes; and if they say they don’t like tire, I’ll sew their mouths up with red-hot wire; and then dear sir vou
should see them squirm when 1 roll them over and cool to turn.” H ith the last words the printer awoke, and thought it was a practical joke; but still at times so real did it seem, that he cannot believe it )vas a dream; often he thinks with a chuck find grin of the fate of those who save their tin and never pay the printer.

Home-Made Furniture. Home-made furniture is rarely successful and more rarely economical. Occasionally a husband or wife has a Tift at carpentry, and can do wonders, f the young husband can build furniture so well that he would not hesitate to offer to sell it, with a fair likelihood of getting a purchaser, let him build all lie can for his home. It will be good, and of as much comfort to the household as the dainty needle-work his wife may have the skill to fashion, But let the ordinary wielder of the hammer, saw and plane beware. The materials used will usually cost half enough or more to buy the finished article at a reliable shop. After the furniture is done, and money, time and strength have been devoted to it, what js the usual result? A ’’toggledup” article that is rarely comfortable, generally cumbersome, and will come to pieces within a year. A chair made out of a barrel is always a barrel, even though covered with raw silk and adorned with velours squares.
