There is likely to be trouble between the Bev. Warner and one of his female disciples—the latter affirming that she can relieve the infirmities of man equal to the reverend gentleman himself—and he denying. In these days it is nothing for a disciple to outdo the master. An exchange says look oat for a fellow who is going from one place to another leaving the impression that he is a newcomer to the town. He takes two pairs of shoes home to have his wife select a pair, gets a gun or revolver to try, etc, After the articles are in his possession they are disposed of and the swindler skips for fresher fields. A runaway occurred mar the town cemetery last Sunday. IVill Leroy, Jake Giberson and Joe Endley were in the buggy, the former driving. The buggy tongue broke, which frightened the horses so that they could not be held. The occupants jumped out of the buggy in time to save their necks. The horses ran as far as the Kankakee bridge before they were stopped. The buggy waa torn, into pieces. An exchange says gas-well frauds are coming to the front in the natural gas belt. Swindler No. 1 comes along and takes a gas lease on a farm; No 2. shows up a week or two afterwards and offers a big price for the land, but when he finds out there is an incumbrance on it in the shape of a gas lease, he will have nothing to do with the hind with the lease on it. No. lis then hunted up, the lease canceled at a big advance; No 2 skips and the swindle is completed.

A Miraculous Escape from the Grave. I have been in poor health, with a diseased stomach and liver, causing a cankered mouth continually for ten years. I kept about my- house until a year ago last June. For three years prior to that time I had a severe pain in the region of my heart, at limes seeming past indurance. It affected my shoulder, took all strength from my arm ; could get no relief only by poulticing. My stomach being so diseased, my food caused me great distress. My age also seemed to be in the way of my recovery, and not the least of my sickness. 1 employed the very best of medical assistance I could get while in Caro, this state, but little encouragement could I get. Was moved to Vassar, Oct, 1, 1885, on a bed, giving me every ten min. utes a teaspoonful of brandy and ice with only a teaspoonful of nourishment at a time. I commenced bloating soon after arriving here, had a physician there, and he said my condit i>n was worse than in Caro, On the 27th of May last, we called a council of doctors from Vassar, “three in number.” All of them pronounced my case incurable. I had with the n st inflammation of the, bowels,, ami 1 lay almost lifeless, ami one of the leading physicians said if 1 could be restored to a sane mind again it would be all my husband might expect, and anything that would soot lie me was all that could be done. My husband got me some medicine from Johnson & Williamson’s druggists, at Vassar, and commenced giving it tome, ami in three weeks' time they began to put me in an easy chair, “for a short time each day,” at which time 1 had no use of my lower limbs and my back was numb it was a little over two months before I could walk without crutches 1 am now a well woman, have walked one and a half miles within a month, can eat all kinds of food and enjoy it, have gained from 82 pounds, since last May, to 11G now. Could say more of my sickness, but delicacy prevents. 1 w ant to say to my friends that Hibbard’s Rheumatic Syrup and Plasters are the medicines that cured me. I used four plasters with the first five bottles; have used ten bottles in all and am well. If anyone who reads this has any doubt as to the authenticity of my statment, it will afford me pleasure to refer them to my neighbors all about hero, as they are all astonished at my recovery. It is a great family remedy. Very truly, Mrs. Chester Gage. Vassar. Mich., Oct 11 1886.
This is to certify that I have known Mrs Gage since she came to Vassar, and know the facts set forth in her statement above to be true. Very truly, Geo. E. Williamson, Os the firm of Johnson & Williamson, druggist Vassar, Mich. Hibbard’s Rheumatic Syrup is put up in large packages. Its peculiar combination makes it a specific for all Blood, Kidney and Liver diseases. For a billions or a constipated person it has no equal.
