At the request of the Central Labor Union the opening of the pnbllo schools has been postponed until Tuesday morning.

The First Baptist church has extended a foimal call to Rev. J. S. Holmes, of Bay City, Mich., but no response to it has yet been received.

Mis. Naomi Mullen has sued

Mrs. Delia Harmon, a colored woman living at the poor farm, is 108 years old, and is probably the oldest woman in the United States. She was born in North Carolina in 1785, but does not know'the month or the day. She is now entirely helpless, being uuable even to feed herself.

A series of comic operas will be given by our local musical talent, this winter, under the direction of Prof. Ddmorest, who assisted in the production of Pinafore" last spring. The first production will be the "Sorceress" some time in October and Prof. Breinig is now arranging the music for t.
