The distribution of Myers Bros.' turkeys is progressing ibis afternoon from one till six o'clock. The matter Is in tbo hands of the ladies of the Society for Organized Charity, who investigate all the applications and wf ere a worthy person is found an order is given on the firm for a turkey, which is delivered on presentation of the ostler at the store. The six and-a-half feet pf humanity which comprises th© anatomy of "Patsey" Madigan is well known to many. Patsey is a "young" man of doubtful age and matrimonial inclinations, to which several ventures in that line can bear testimony. Incidentally, it might also be remarked, tbat Patsey always keeps bis best eye in a position where it cau grasp the main chance with becoming firmness. Trohble has been a frequent visitor in theMadigan home, the latest occuring this week. For the past seven years Patsey had noticed in the garretof his houseatrunk which was at all times securely fastened with a padlock. The trunk was the property of Mrs. Madigan, upon ,whom tho persuasive olarney of her Patsey could not prevail in bis eloquent efforts to have her reveal to him its contents. Last Wednesday P*tsey went' out on a high old lonesome, and when ho had imbibed sufficiently for the purpose of inebriety he proceeded homewards to have another quarrel with his better half over the contonts of tho trunk. Patsey fired Mrs. Madigan out bodily, locked horout and then proceeded to investigate. He broke opt-n the trunk and found in it about §0,400. His surprife© was great, but he was tqual to the occasion. Ho douned a shooting jacket with a pocket capacity for a varied assortment of turkeys, rabbits and smaller ititmo and loaded the money all in without the formality of counting it. He them armed himself with a shotgun and proceed©-! to have lots of fun with himself. Early Thursday morning he was run in for having too much money, and at the jail tho officers relieved him of $6,385.85 in cold cash, which was returned to his wife. Th© money has been it: the bouse for seven years, having been drawn from the First National Bank by Mrs. Madigan that long ago, beoause she was afraid the bank would break. Between Patsey and others, who think that is too much money for her to have, the chances are that from this time on Mrs. Madigans' life will beancveutful one, and not without interest to the public

THE STIlili ALARM.

A play written by a Hoosier. Though it does portray life as found in a large city, it is of interest to the people oMndiana.

Joseph Arthur/ whose well known popular play, "The Stilt Alarm," cocaes to Naylor's opera house Tuesday night, December 27fc,h was born and grew to manhood at Indianapolis.

Still, it is not claimed that "Tho StiSl Alarm" is entitled to the patronage of Indianaon that accpunt alone. It come* hereon its merits as an entertainment aud asks no more favors, than its strength in everj' city in America and England has by many seasons of con stunt and liberal patronage, sbowu it is entitled to.

The play, as is well known, is a stirring, well told, interesting story of life in a city. In it comedy, pathos and realistic sensational features follow in quick succession. The

COMEDY IN GERMAN.

On New Years night the Qerman Theatrical cempany of Cincinnati will give another performance in the opera house. The three act comedy, "Goldonkel of California," a very amusing comedy, has been selected for the occasion and will be presented with a full cast. This company has given several performances here, anjl their excellence is its recommendation. Thus far tbe German portion of the population has been quite liberal in its patronage, and when the company appears her© New Year's night it should have an ovation, as tbe comedy to be presented is said to be one which bubbles over with fpu and cannot fail to add to the amusement of the day.

NOTKS.

Sam Young's company presented "Zeb" week before last in Chicago and the papers united in saying it was the best "Hayseed Comedy" ever seen in the World's Pair City.

The play that has made all America laugh, "Skipped by the Light of the Moon," will be at Naylor'st on Monday, January 2nd. Matinse and evening. The company presenting the

Miss Eugenee Blair, the leading lady of tbe Robert Downing Co., is the best known of all the women now essaying tragic rolls. While young she has played all the heroines in.the legitimate drama in the support of Lawrence Barrett and John McCullough, and for the past fonr seasons has starred jointly with the tradgedian, Robert Downing. Miss Blair's schooling has not been confined entirely to the legitimate, she having been seen in the Daly comedies, and in modern melodrama. Her advancement, while it has been rapid, is sure, and there is no woman now before the public who fills the place made vacant by the retirement of Mary Anderson as does Eugenie Blair. '•j
