HERMANN.

The great magician Hermann attracted a crowded bouse last night at Naylor's. The entertainment is a wonderful one in every sense. The engagement closes to-night with a grand double bil1, in cludinsc Mme. Hermann's famous new "Black Art." The house will no doubt be crowded again. Secure your seats in advance at Button's.

MUSS VICTORIA VOKEJS.

Miss Victoria Voltes, who divided with her sister, Kosina, and brother, Fred, the honors and fame of the family during their early visits to America and who was the bright particular star of that combination, has returned to the American stage. Those who have seen her need hot be reminded of the glorious voice and magnetic stage presence which made her a favorite in "Belles of the Kitchen," "Pun in a Fog," etc. On Tuesday evening, December 10th, she comes to Naylor's surrounded by a company of excellent comedians and will appear in characters suited to her peculiar style of comedy. A double bill will be given consisting of "The Rough Diamond" and "Hubby."

THE PEA HI. OF 1'EKIN.

The famous production, which will be seen here at the opera house next Wednesday evening in its entirety, with all the original cast, costumes, scenic effects and magnificent surrounding, is entirely dissimilar to any like production ever upon the American stage. The New York Herald, speaking of its 250 nights run in that city, says: "The last and greatest success of Rico & DlxeyJ* 'The Pearl of Pekin' and In Its gorgeous trplendor, in its wealth of vivacity and mirth, its melody. its catchy ditties, Its torrent of beautiful female anatomy, it is almost beyond adequate description. The action of the story is bright—the music charming. The wardrobe is superb. It is a display of costumes,' rich, picturesque and magnificent—as if tho rising of the curtain had revealed the oriental splendor of a gathering of the Imperial Court of Pekin on some great feast day. The cost, in costumes, and the beauty and Unique blending of colors and fantastic designs, pale the memory of display—superb as it was—of 'The Mikado.' Such a feast of Milks, of color and embroidery makes one go home to dream all night of tlntillatine satins and diamond sprayed rainbows. Ana, as In every production by Mr. Rice, all the girls are there In liberal quantities and charming qualities. They are all pretty and shapelywinsome and enchanting."

Sale of seats commences Monday morning. A special scale of prices has been arranged, the best seats being $1.25.

The galnt with th® "Pearl of Pekin'' company is seven feet seven inches in holght and is tho highest salaried or unsalaried man on tho American stage.

S1IO AND SHOW PEOPLE.

Miss Juliet Corben, erstwhile a choir singer in Brooklyn, is the latest comic opera success in tho East. She is with the Bostonlans.

James O'Neill has just had a very successful bit of advertising. An Irisb woman in Now York claims him as her long lost husband.

Wilson Barrett, the tragedian, has again invadod the country, bringing with him anothor bloody tragedy, which Jio enacts in such a peifect manner as to bring on fits of horrors in the audience.

The advertising department of Niblo's Now York theatre has hit upon anew and startling scheme of booming their show. An advertisement was inserted in tho papers saying that 5,000 cats were wan tod at the stage door on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. By the time appointed over 2,000 people were on hand, oaoh with a cat for sale. The animals embraced ovory known variety and color. In most cases ton cents apiece or a gallory ticket was considered a sufficient equivalent for a cat. When the oats were finally collected a label having on the advertisement of tho show was placed around tho neck of each and the whole lot liberated. This method of advertising was tried onco in St. Louis and proved a groat success.

Tho Townley stove company have something now in tho line of heating stoves for burning coal oil. These stoves aro useful for heating bath-rooms, bedrooms, conservatories, etc., and, also, larger rooms when weather is such that a moderate heat is required and one does not care to start a grate or base burner. Try one.
