Mennenhall as president of the institute has been found, and as the selection is to be very carefully made it is probable th&ta man will not be found for some months. The selection has been left largely to Dr. Mendenhall and he will have this iu mind while in attendence at the.Torohto meeting of the American society for the advancement of science. Until a president is found he will make occasional visits to see that the work is going on without interuption of any kind. The prospects for a large attendence during the coming year are very good. Already the applications for admission to the new class are nearly up to the limit (sixty),-and the class will represent a wide territory.

Cottage Building and Savings
Association recently organized inithis city is now ready for business. Shares may be taken and payments made at any time. This association has some entirely new features that commend it to those who want to save or borrow money. Its business is confined to Vigo county. No traveling expenses or large salaries to be paid. The amount that may be applied to expenses is limited by the constitution. These features insure larger dividends than can possibly be paid by associations that have heavy expenses and take outside risks. The incorporators are J. T. H. Miller, S. C. Stimson, E. M. Goodwin, W, A. Hamilton, Bertis MdCormick, H. P. Townley, J. W. Landfum, W. W. Byers, J. Irving Riddle and Douglas H. Smith. The first five named are the directors for the first year. The office of the association is at Ne. 20 south Sixth street. Telephone Ne. 61.
