Professor Jenkins, of DePauw university, with two ruisistants, are on their way to the Sandwich Islands, where they will spend the summer, making a scientific investigation of the Ash.

Charles Parrott and Miss Anna Connelly were married at St. Patrick's church Monday evening at 6 p. m., Father School! officiating. After the ceremony a reception was given at the residence of the bride's parents on Poplar street, near Fourteenth.
William Johnson died at his home, 57 south Eleventh street, Tuesday noon, after an illnees of nine weeks. He was well and favorably known. For the past four years he h»s been in the grocery business. He was 35 years of age.

Muskegon (Mich.) Chronicle Yesterday Kelly Bros'. Manufacturing Co., closed the oontraot for making and putting in the interior wood work for the new residence being built at Terre Haute, Ind., by D. W. MinshaU, a wealthy citizen of that place. The contract is a large one and will keep the factory here pretty busy for at least three months. Mr. Mlnshall's new house is large and imposing In exterior appearance, while the Interior will be elaborate and elegant. The ohoicest domestic woods In natural finish will be used. Among these are quarter-sawed white oak, quarter-sawed sycamore, cherry, bird's eye maple and butternut. The work will be of the finest and will be richly carved. The contract also calls for nine wood mantels, aside board and the library furniture. All of these will be of beautiful design and elaborate finish with artistic carving. Before placing this order, Mr. Mlnshall visited this city and made a careful examination in Muskegon residences of some of the finest interior wood work turned out by the Kelly company. He was so well pleased with this that he gave this company the preference over other bidders for the work,
