OUR POLYTIGS.
We vote split tickets, aimin' to elect the smaller rascal.
As too free trade and perfection, we can't express our kentempt fur a guverment which levies a tariff of ten per cent, on wimen's corsets and cant bring a million dollar embezzler to justice.
On social etikette we eat with a fork, address every gentleman as ker
nel, an' we ginerally start fur home before bein' kicked out. On the temprance questshun we argy that if a man don't know more than to let whisky git the upper grip on him, he'd better be tied to sum lamp-post whar the fool-killer kin find him.
As to buyin' pervisions, we alus go to E. R. Wright's White Frunt grocery, where you can get to-day, the best
Dressed Turkeys, Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Rabbits, Squirrel, Smoked Salmon, Eel, Celery, Cranberries, Oysters, White Clover Honey, -Choice Apples, Oranges, Lemons, Maple Syrup, Sorghum, New Orleans Molasses, Buckwheat Flour, Bananas, Entire Wheat Flour, Graham Flour, English Plum Pudding, Peaches for Cream, California Wines, pure and cheap Choice Country and Jersey Butter, and many other thing too numerous to mention.
Nearly $10,000 a Day.
This is a large sum of money, but the Phenix Insurance Company has paid this to policy holders every business day of the year just gone. In this State of Indiana the Company paid 411 losses last year, amounting to over $115,000 and has paid over $815,000 to policy holders during the time the Company has been in the State.
THE PHENIX DID MORE BUSINESS THAN ANY FIRE INSURANCE CO. IN THE WORLD, BY OYER A MILLION DOLLARS IN 1886, and the outlook is much better this year than last.
