Mrs. Phil Schloss is seriously ill: Mrs. M. W. Sedam is seriously ill. Bay Warren, of the Buckeye, is on the sick list.

Wash Surrell now greets his friends at Joe Miller's. W. T. Leggett is in Arkansas closing up a big land trade.

Mrs. P. F. Kieth is recovering from •very dangerous illness. Winnifred Harper has entirely recover ed from the scarlet fever.

Miss Mattie Surrell gave a very pleasant German on Tuesday evening. Ethel Stanley is convalescing from a severe attack of scarlet fever.

Jerry Hidden has returned from Florida much benefitted in health. Ben Blanchard is out in Kansas gathering up the wreck of his business.

Mrs. Dr. Foulston will spend vacation at Salem and other points in Illinois. Mrs. Will Buntin is now sitting up and is slowly but surely gaining strength

Mrs. Wilson Naylor went to Eugene Wednesday'to attend the funeral of an sunt. I

Mrs. Hedrickand daughter, Miss Sadie of Chicago are visiting Mrs. Mary S. Armstrong.

Charles Mitfer will commence at once the erection of a pleasant home on south Seventh street.

Mrs. Elizabeth Eaglesfleld and friend, Miss Parsons, spent several days in Indianapolis this week.

EJd. E. Barton has gone to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he will represent a Chicago grain house.

Elisha Havens is negotiating with John S. Beach for tho purchase of the Tuller property on Ohio street.

Rev. Dr. Delafteld visited Leavenworth, Kansas, this week, in response to an invitation to accept a $2,500. salary and reotory.

A. M. Farnham has purchased of Mrs. Emma B. Grover the property on Oak street which he has be6n occupying for a number of yoars.

Charles F. Putnam returhed on Monday from the east where he selocted an ninonse stock of desirablo goods and ologant novelties for tho Buckeye.

Kd Alexander was in town this week on his way from Garden City, Kansas, to Cincinnati. Ho says W. H. Duncan is well (lxorf and pleased with his position.

N. R. McNahb has withdrawn from the Labor Lance. As a solicitor of subscriptions and advertisements ho has beon a hustler and tho proprietors of that paper will miss him.

Mrs. Crissio, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Brown and Miss draco Ilayward will go to Chicago next month to outer upon a six months course of study, preparatory to going upon tho stage.
