To obtain a lucrative mercantile potti tion, one must either spend sevoral years of apprenticeship, on little or no salary or attend a commercial college. The latter way is much preferable, as both uiotiey and time is saved. A WORD FOR LABORING MEN. Rents amount from 5 to $10 a month tor a small tenement house. Only 6 per cent, interest, and will take any amount at any time in part pay for a lot. WKKK before last we mentioned the pardon of Andrew J. Miller, a life eon vict, for murdering his father-in-law, few miles west of this city. There quite a romance—if such it may be termed—connected with the Miller fam ily. Shortly after Miller went to the penitentiary, a man named Trader was discharged by expiration of sentence. He came here, became acquainted with Miller's wife, and, after a divorce was obtained, married her. After the marriage Trader killed a man, and was sent back on a life sentence. Strange to say both men accuse this woman of being the exciting cause of the murders they (Committed, but give none of the details As Miller is now free, it is not improba ble that he will remarry Mrs. Trader, she having cause for a divorce from her last husband. ,A,~V
