AT IT AGAIN.

Another hellish crime is added to tbe long list committed in tbe vicinity of St. Marys. Tbe lightning express train on tbe I. A St. L. road, due here at 1:38, Thursday morning, was thrown from tbe track, and George Morris, tbe con doctor, was killed. That there was not a greater loin of life, may be considered in the light of a miracle.

Tbe place selected for the devilish deed is about one mile west of St. Marys, and five miles fromjbis city. There is a deep ravine, about sixty feet wide, spanned by a wooden trestle. Here a rail bad been loosened, and moved to one tdde, just sufficient for tbe purpose, and yet not enongh to be notioed by the engineer until too late. During tbe night switch engine that is used to help heavy freight trains up tbe grade between this city and Sandford encountered ao me obstructions on the track near St, Mary's. This fact was telegraphed tbe conductor of tbe fated train. Tbe dispatch was received at Paris, and engineer White was running cautiously. As soon as be struck the misplaced rail, with rare presence of mind be pulled the throttle wide open, and tbe engine with abound cleared the chasm. The movement uncoupled tbe traiu and prevented telescoping. Tbe engine did not leave the embankment, and pulled tbe baggage car and one coach entirely across tbe trestle. Tbe Horton chair ear fell on its side into the ditch, almost balancing over the steep precipice, while the sleeping car was left standing, although off the track.

Conductor Morris was in tho smoking car, at tbe forward end. He bad just answered tbe inquiry of a passenger as to the distance to this city, and was stooping down to fix the fire in the stove, when tbe crash came. The car plunged into the embankment, and the life of tbe unfortunate man was cru6hed out. His death must have been instan taneous. Tbe body was brought to this city, and after being prepared for buriBl by undertaker Ball, forwarded to his home in Indianapolis. Mr. Morris was once a resident of this city. He bad been in the employ of tbe road for fourteen years, and was considered one of its most valuable men. He leaves a wife and lour children.

Tbe time has come when no money should be spared and tbe best of detective talent employed to ferret out these human devils, HO ready to sacrifice human life in revenge .'or some real or fancied injury from the corporation controlling tbe road for such must be tbe motivo impelling to tbis succession of accidents.
