CENT STORE. I

Fester Brothers give away to-night (Saturday) a handsome motto to customers who trade with them after six

In looking for Christmas gifll see tbe pretty lap robes and tbe large atock of men and boys' saddles at Peter Miller' harness eetabliahment, south Fourth atreet.

Johnson A Flina, No. 613 Main street, are now in daily receipt of the famous New York Saddle Rock Oysters, in fall quart and half gallon cans—solid meat— the choicest oysters brought to this market.

A couple of tbe moat attractive show windows on Main street are those of Button A Co'a Central Bookstore. The unique basket and bracket warea attract the attention of the passer by, and cause many exclamations of delight—especially from tbe ladies. These show win dows, however, are only a taste of tbe many elegant goods, such aa books, albama, pictures, fancy stationery, mantel and table ornaments of every conceivable variety. We remember last year a lady remarked that in tbe way of holiday gifts she could get everything she wanted at tbe Central Bookstore, and this year Mr. Button has exercised still more taste, and purchased a larger stock than ever. By a*l means visit the Central Bookstore before making your Christmas purchases.

A family is like an equipage. First the father, a draught horse next, the boys, the wheels, for they are always run ning around then tbe girls, tbey are surrounded by fellows the baby occupies the lapboard: the mother—well, what's a wagon without a tongue? Speaking of families, it is a rare now to find a family that does not at the Immense grocery house of Wright A King, corner of Main and Seventh streets, where may .be found the best assorted stock of groceries, staple, fancy and green, tbe largest and best stock of canned meats, fish and fruits, the best brands of oysters as low as sold in this city bams, breakfast bacon, beef tongue, codfish, dressed -turkeys, chickens and ducks, cranberries, country and creamery butter, New York cream cheese, buckwheat flour, new corn meal, oatmeal, oraoked wheat, pearl barley, hominy and Carolina bead rice, pure maple syrup, rock candy drips, choice sorghum, home-made and California honey and all seascnable table supplies.

WE were compelled to withdraw our advertisement from tbe Evening Gazette, owing to tbe harvest we reaped from our past notioes of closing out this stock. During our withdrawal from print, a very kind fellow citizen in our trade took the pains of circulating the report that "Boss Joe" was dead, that he bad gone to Leadville, Ac. This he tells with a hyena grin, but it sours on him. Onward we move, and tbe light of commercial prosperity most assuredly awaits us, the cause being the full determination, at all times and under all circumstances, never to let our stock remain on hand, but to sell everything regardless of cost rather than move tbe same. We place on sale to-day 650 Canadian "Keyo" Overcoats "For Men" $1.75. These coats will cost you in less than thirty days |4.50. We place on sale to-day several hundred suits of clothing for men made by the oelebrated house of Hammerslough Bros., New York, and purchased of them as a job for $3.50 to $4.50 in three different styles and are made of good, warm material. We would also call attention to the large line of fine all wool cassimere and cheviot suits we are offering now at $10 and $12.50 per auit con sidered by all who have seen them, the best bargains offered in Terre Haute. We "bosa" them all on nobby ulsterettes—see our $5.00 ulster. "Good luck to all who enter here." "Joe," the Boss Clothier and Dollar Hatter. 425 Main atreet, four doors west of Fifth street.

T.H.C.C.

There is always a demand for yoang men of good moral charaoter and first class qualificationa. Young men, think of the future, and resolve to qualify yourself for the stern realities of an active and successful life. The above College is having a large attendanoe, and ia in a flourishing condition. Young men can do no better than to educate themselves at tile Terre lJaute Commercial College.

BUNTIN & ARMSTRONG-

I wish I knowed that old bachelor, Town Talk, who writes lor the Male. He says so many good things that I know he must be a good man—an' be ought to git married an' make some woman bappy. Hiked what he said t'other day about gossips, an' I want to say that the woman who'll help to sirkulate a peese of goasip or skandal is as bad as tbe one who originates it. To put thur

bands in a tar barrel an' go round shaking them with everybody is what sum eeple like to do. Tbey would be in etter bissiness if tbey would tell their nabors tbat Rippetoe, of tbe White Frunt, which the same is on Mane strete, has to-day dressed turkeys, chickens, ducks, oysters in can and bulk, celery, cranberries and New York Catawba grapes, dried fruits, California pears, pealed peaches, plums, pitted cherries, seedless raisins, London layer raisins, dried currants, prunes and choioe apples, canned meats', canned beef, spiced fillets, deviled tongue, potted ham, chicken and tongues sandwich ham, oanned fruits, California peaches, white cherries, apricots, green gages, Bartlett pears, strawberries, Yarmouth corn, blackberries, Elgin corn.
