J. E. Glover, superintendent of the nmil works, is in Pittsburg, Pa. E. P. Morgan, Cleveland, is in the city visiting his brother J. A. Morgan.

MissGeorgie Klirik, of Areola, Ills., is visiting Miss Annie Gaston, of this city. Charley Minshall Sails from New York for Europe to-day. He will be absent two years.

Miss Tillie Fecbbeimer baa returned home from a three months visit to OsbJtosb, Wis.

John Paul Jones has gone to Lafayette where be has formed a law partnership And where he will in future reside.

Mr. and Mrs. Gorbam, who have been ^visiting their daughter, Mrs. M. Wil Hams, returned to their home this week.

Secretary Thompson, accompanied by Admiral Scott, W. R. Mciteen, mibb Mamie McKeen and Miss Mollie Thompson, returned to Washington City last Monday.

Gen Carrington traveled one thou aand miles to attend the reunion, yet the •only time he was mentioned in the papers an intelligent compositor called hlm(Harringtou.

Frank Seaman wore no gorgeous uniform during tbe reunion, yet it is safe to say that he did as much towards the success of the enterprise as any person oonneoted with it.

J. D. Weaver, of tbe Peoria Call, called at the Mall ofika tbis week. He reports the Call in a flourishing condition, which tbe many friends of its proprietors In tbis locality will be glad to bear.

James M. Hedges was married, last Monday night,,to Miss Ida Turner, of Youngstown, at Mount Zlon churoh, near that place, Rev. C. R. Henderson, assisted by the bride's father, offlciating. £it. Express: Reese H. Voorhees, who graduated at Bellview Medical college, Kew York, In February last, was recently appointed to tbe enviable post of Assistant Surgeon of Bellview hospital. Tbis appointment is gained by coinpeti tlve examination. On tbis occasion eight assistant surgeons were to be ohosen, and there were upwards of forty applicants. Mr. Voorbees stood second on tbe ltst.

Prof. Brennecke starts for New York city this afternoon, where he will reoeive instruction in all the latest dances from the three beet teachers of tbe terp alohorean art la the world. He will only be absent from bis classes about a week, and after his return he will give a grand reception, on the 24th of October, to his pupils, who uow number about one hundred and forty,

Hon. W. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) shows at the Opera House to night, and widespread popularity will doubtless Insure him a crowded house. Col. Ingrabam, the novelist and dra matist, and author of Buffalo Bill's drama of the "Knight of tbe Plains," is traveling with the company this season. He is a son of tne celebrated preachernovelist of Tennessee. 1

James C. McGregor, Miss Helen McGregor and Master Jamie McGregor have returned home from a prolonged visit to tbe east. Mrs. McGregor and Miss Lillie stopped in Cincinnati, where the latter will attend school during the winter.

EDDIE BURGESS, tbe Boy Chief uf the Pawnees, the youngest chief of which any record is given among the entire Indian nation, is with the Buffalo Bill party, and appears in the drama. He is a white boy who was chosen chief of the tribe at the age of fourteen.

Rev. MoK. Darwood has been requested to repeat a sermon which be delivered a short time before be left tbe city, upon the following subject:—"Tbe Procuring Cause of Our Salvation." He will comply with the request, at Asbury M. E. church, to-morrow morning.
