Misa Nannie Harper, Indianapolis, is In the city on a short visit. Mrs. Will Fairbanks, Joplin, Mo., will arrive in tbe city next week.

Frank Armstrong took in the competitive drill at St. Louis this week. R. S. Cox starts for New York city tomorrow night on a bnsinees trip. (Miss Edith Hughes has returned from a two months visit to Evansville.

John 8. Beach and daughter, Miss Sue, have returned from New York. Mrs. Calhoun, Chicago, is in the city visiting Dr. and Mrs. L. H, Bartholomew.

Misses Whiting Morris and Jennie Foote are visiting in Indianapolis this week.

Auditor Grimes went over to Indianapolis this week to take the dimenaions of tbe crowd, and see President Hayes.

Ben. G. Hudnut, Jay Keyee and Nick Smith will attend the wedding of Miss Heberd at Vinoennes next Tuesday.

Terry, of the Ledger, looks glum, and Will Ball, of tbe Gazette, carries around with him a shilalah as big as a table leg.

Charles Baurbas gone to Philadelphia where for the next six months he will attend the Philadelphia School of Pbar» macy.

Dr. Joseph Richardson, on Thursday last, delivered the opening address before the Indiana Deotal college at Indianapolis.

James T. Hood, better known as "Polk" Hood, tbe champion fisherman of tbe Wabash, of Eugene, was in .town yeetefdty.

Miss Mftty Bruce, a member of the faculty ot the State Normal School, has resigned her position on account of failing health.

J. P. Vesque, book-keeper at tbe distillery, who has been so ill for some time that his.reoovery was considered doubtful, is now out of danger.
