Mrs. Hancbett, wife of David Hanchett, the actor, and mother of Fanny B. Price by a iormer marriage, died at Chicago on Friday of last week.

Bob Thomas, who has made the best station bouse keeper the city has had, stepped out on Wednesday to give place to hU successor, Ferdinand Fiedler.

Information has been received that Chester ("Chet") Sherburne was killed, some two months ago, in Colorado. The particulars have not been received.

The Normal School Board has again refused to accept the resignation of President Jones. We learn that Mr. Jones really desires, on account of his health, to retire from the school, and this second refusal is a decided compliment to him.

Charley Eppert is the popular photographer. The ladles particularly prefer him when they have their children's pictures taken, because be takes such especial pains and never gets out of patience with the nervous little people.

These are pleasant eveniaga for drives, especially if your horse is dressed in a set of the light harness and your laps covered with one of the elegant dusters Peter Miller on south Fourth street is selling so cheap.

Foster Brothers say Barnum's agent will be here next week, looking for the dry goods man who sells dry goods all the week at any price he cau get, and then advertises his house as one price. The man with an iron cheek connected with Barn urn's show died last week." "I tell you it is a daisy!" said he. "What said the other fellow. "Why, that crimson plush parlor set that Forater A Son have just received at their furniture house on north Fourth street. It is a splendid set of furniture, and, by the way, Forster A Son are constantly getting in a better class—that is, more stylish and expensive furniture to supply the demands of their patrons attracted by their low prices.

The man will be hard to suit who cannot be suited from the magnificent line of suitings shown us yesterday by J. P. Brennan, the popular merchant tailor on east Main street. He has been getting in new piece goods every few days, until now his tables and shelves present a tempting array of the newest and prettiest styles. His suits are made by experienced tailors and at extremely low prices.

Every day that a person goes into Button A Co's Central Bookstore there seems to be something new. Besides being headquarters for all that is new and nobby in fancy stationery, they have a very attractive line of fancy glass paper weights, pretty inkstands, pocket books, a very extensive variety in all shapes and sizes desired. Then there are new pictures, photographs, pretty frames, and other beautiful things coming along all the time.

The display, of straw hats made by S. Loeb & Co, corner of Main and Fifth streets, show that this enterprising firm are up with the limes in bringing out the latest and nobbiest styles of summer hats. They have other hats and caps of all descriptions, and a frill line of gents furnishing goods and summer underwear. The low prices and courteous treatment of customers characteristic of this house have built up a large and prosperous trade.

If you wish to be as happy as a king look at those who haven't as much as you—not at those who have more. And permit us to add another more important piece of advice, which is, buy your table supplies at Wright A King's popular grocery, on the corner of Main and Seventh streets, which is always in the lead with the choicest groceries, the freshest country produce, early vegetables and fruits, canned goods and everything to be found in a first class house.

TERRE HAUTE SAiMfRDAY EVENING MAIL

The spring an' summer fashions don't worry uie like they used to. So ez the coat o' ray slummiek feels comfortable, I don't keermuch how the rest o* my clo'es look or fit. But ez for the bonnets 'at some nv 'em is a wearin, I wouldn't be fonnd dead with 'em on. I could buy 'em if I wanted to. It hain't bekase I hain't got the munny to do it with. I've bin a tradin' with Rippetoe too long not to

But! hain't proud. I never wuz. I'd druther be pinted at ez the good lookin' woman who goes about among her weak-minded sisters a doin' good by instructin' uv em when an' bow to buy groceries. Rippetoe has today the most scrumptous lay out fur Sunday eatin' the heart could desire or the stummick crave there's everything there that grows. I just tell you tbare hain't no belter in the livin' world, an' he sells it ez low ez anybody, no matter what the prices is as is advertised. An' in gooeries, as is well know'd, he keeps the very choicest, an' sells reasenable'r, asastlady thing, an' anybody I know uv. Try Rippetoe once, an' you'll acknowledge you've been a foolin' away your time afore that.

The Success of Owen, Pixley & Go's Clothing Stores

Is without a parallel in this state their growth is without a precedent their facilities are without an equal their system of manufacturing and retailing to the customer at Wholesale Prices, or as low as the "MIDDLEMAN" can buy, is without a peer in this market. The magnitude of their stock is incomprehensible to those who have not seen it. They have broken the backbone of High Prices, and number among their patrons a greater percentage of economically inclined people than any other similar institution in the West. Their growth is the result of no secret. Retailing at Wholesale Prices and Square Dealing is the talismanic word that never fails to interest, and when applied to their mammoth stock of Gents' Furnishing Goods there
