So attractive are the goods and so low the prices that R. Foster dt Son have recently found it less difficult to sell than to keep their house, on north Fourth street, supplied with furniture, pictures,

Ac. ^,

The dealers and people of the surrounding towns, when they want oys ters, should bear in mind that E. W. Johnson is the sole agent in this city for the celebrated brand of E. B. Malleroy's Baltimore oysters.

The sudden change in the weather yesterday caused many men and horses to think of the comfortable lap robes and horse blankets sold at such reasonable prices by Peter Miller, at his harness manufactory on south Fourth street

Many of the diseases inoident ta win ter are caused by improper and unseasonable foot wear. Go at once to J. P. Tutt, in the Opera House block, and have him fit you with a strong and ser-, vlceable pair of shoes or boots, from the well made stock he handles. No dealer sells lower than J. P. Tutt.

In the way of small musical merchandise the music house of W. H. Paige ft Co. does a very considerable business, carrying a good stock of low prices. They make a specialty of French Harps, and it is wonderful the perfection the manufacturers have attained in this instrument, once considered only a toy.

Been into Button fc Co's bookstore lately? Drop in occasionally and see the new books they are getting in, the new and nobby fancy stationery, the blank books of every style, commercial stationery of every description, new pictures, photographs, table and mantel ornaments, Ac. Walk right in. You are always welcome there, whether you want to buy or not.

Ladies, don't worr# about canning fruit. Canned peaches, for instance, you can buy for less than you can put them up, at J. M. Riffner & Son's China Tea Store. By the way, we would suggest that every housekeeper in this city And vlolnlty take an occasional ramble through Riffners' tea store. They take groat delight in showing the many substantial* and delicacies they have for the table.

J. H. Chapman has found it necessary to put another handsome bread wagon the fourth—on the streets, In order to supply all his customers promptly with bread. His recent improvements in his dining ball enables him to set from fifteen to twenty tables, and with careful and accommodating waiters, the great crowds are as promptly served as though only a half a dozen were at their meals. Such meals for twenty five cents are truly wonderful*

Adversity exivp&iiiP fools, dejecta cowards, draws out the faculties of the wise and industrious, puts the modest to the necessity of trying their skill, awes the opulent, makes the idle industrious and onuses all to look around for the best plaoe to buy table supplies, which is at Wright A King's, on the corner of Seventh and Main streets.
