THE claimants of the reward for the capture of the murderer of Dr. Armstrong had their case up in the Circuit Court this week, and took a change of venue to Clay county. Afterwards a compromise was effected, and tbe rewards aro to be equally divided between Dennehie and Raldridge, of Rosedale, who arretted Plney, and Stack and Wade, of this city, who captured Flowera. Tbe rewards are to be paid by Dr. Armstrong, $500 tbe county, $350, and the city,

Peer. PALMER closes his series of lectures at Armory Hall this evening with a lecture to men only. His lectures in this city have been well attended and have been full of interest and instruction.

THE coucert and supper at Asbury Chapel Tuesday evening was a very enjoyable occasion, but like most affaire of tbat nature this season, the receipts fell short of expectations. About three hundred people attended, when fully five hundred were expected. The Opera House and Dowling Hall were in UJast that evening

STILL another old resident was laid in the cemetery this week. Mrs. Susan Brasher died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R, B. Pooler, at Peoria, Ills., last Sunday morning. The body was brought to this city and buried on Taesday. Mrs. Brasher was born near Cincinnati, in 1808, and came to this city when ten years old. Her husband, Henry Brasher, an energetic house builder in his day, died some twentylive years ago. She was the mother of twelve children, five of whom are still living.

THE musical entertainment at Centenary next Tuesday evening promises to be one of unusual delight. Tbe story of Red Riding Hood will be illustrated in song. Miss Lizzie Ensey, who, as a delightful singer, is so well known, takes tbe part of Red Riding Hood. Miss May McEwen, one of Terre Haute's favorite singers, as Queen of the Faries. will delight the audience by her grace and music. The very large chorus of children who have been in training for a month past, under tbe direction of Mrs. Haberly, will be one of tbe delightful features of tbe entertainment. The Wolf will be properly represented. Go and have a delightful evening. Tbe admission is only twenty-five cents, and e'lildren 15 cents.

"KETTLEDRUM" OF THE LADIES AID SOCIETY. On Friday evening next, the Ladies' of the Aid Society will give an entertainment at Armory Hall at which they hope for the usual liberal attendance of oar citizens. It is the purpose of the Ladies to make it in every way entertaining. Iu addition to the usual supper, ice cream aud oyster tables, a great deal of fancy work, a Christmas tree, and very handsomely dressed dolls. The flower tables, "Sbakspeare" and "Dickens," presided over by young ladies will be attractive. The stage performance given, including "Mother Goose mslodles, by the little folks, and Aunt Polly Bassetl's tea party, of which we annex a programme.
