Who is there that does not love to loiter in an elegant bookstore. We never knew a person with tho slightest taste for good books, who did not regard it as a prime luxury. There Is an irresistible temptation to torn over the pages of solid and handsome works. The very odor of the books is grateful. Wo doat know how It is with our friends at the Central Back* tore—Button A Hamilton —but If we were intrenohed by the exquisite volumes that burthen their apadons shelves, we should be jealous of the admiration which tempts even dainty figures to torn over the leaves of their books which so handsomely illustrate the art of publication in these days of increasing skill and intelligence. Bat their spirit of accommodation is proof •gainst audi jealousy—«t least we judge so, from the throngs of people who do cast sway tii* world awhile, each day and evening, to skirmish through their handsome collection. No doubt Bolton A HamUUsftt their reward, for we do defy any 03* to go in there without feeling a temr-i-t-'ioa to buy.

Now didn't that best all, the way that feller acted, that cum here to buy my man Rippetoe out. Some people fhiok ho was frawa, others say he was crssee, and snm suggest thst be wss just gittln off on a big spree when he cam hers, But they're all wrong, can explane the Mr.-ry —tbats short fur mystery. Ye see I got him oat to one side in the back si ley, and I jest told him
that it was no yuse furs stranger, or sny other man, to come here and exspeet to hold Rippetoe's trade. Why I never saw yet a man that could holds candle to him. He knows eveiybody, and everybody knows him, and he Is so perlite and so good to everybody. Then he knows jist where to get tbe best thing in the market, and then he sells st suol low figgerstbat I don't see bow he makes anything. In fact, I believe its this letter fact that put Rippetoe in the notion of acceptin' the offer to sell oat.
