On Tuesday afternoon the house of Mr. Wash Johnson, a conductor on the Vandalia railroad, was entered while the family was in the rear part, and some valuable jewelry consisting of a gold watch, ring, braoelets and other small articles, amounting altogether to about fSOO, taken. Thomas Sibley, son of "Wal" Sibley, was arrested for this crime, and after oeing convinced by the officer that a companion, a boy by the name of Breoount, bad "peached" on him, owned up and showed the officers where the stolen property was concealed on the west side of the river.
